Avatar export checklist: PNG size, background, watermark

Before you spend 30 minutes tweaking sliders, confirm you can export a clean image. This checklist prevents wasted time.

1) File type

• PNG : best for avatars (sharp edges, transparency).
• JPG : OK for photos, not ideal for flat art.

2) Resolution

• Target at least 800×800 for profile avatars.
• For banners, aim for 1500px+ width if possible.

3) Background

• Look for transparent background options.
• If not available, pick a flat background color that won’t create halos.

4) Watermarks & gating

• Check for watermarks on the export.
• Confirm exports aren’t locked behind sign-up or paywalls.

5) Save your base character

When exports are clean, save a base version and iterate from it. This keeps styles consistent across avatars.
